peaq nodes are divided into groups of validators and full nodes. The validators have a dedicated job of mining the blocks and are hosted on bare metal servers with sufficient provisions to manage the projected load on the network. Full nodes do not take part in block generation and are responsible for storing the full block chain db for lookup purposes.
In addition there are dedicated nodes that provide remote procedure call (rpc) and secure web sockets (wss) services to distributed apps.
The nodes are distributed across multiple datacenters over multiple availability zones across different continents and are grouped into automatic scaling groups to compensate for traffic demands. This setup allows for maximum availability of the network.
